Hot Sauce and Aspirin

Some tips and tricks to survive a hangover.

2020 was a huge year for me. My spouse and I officially moved from Texas to Florida. We became empty nesters when our son went off to college in Washington state. Like many of you we did the covid graduation. We helped move Brian’s parents into assisted living while his mom recovered from a stroke and a heart attack. We watched so much TV, seriously so much. I ran over 200 miles. Through it all, like everyone else, we kept waiting for life to go back to normal, then we learned what the new normal meant. The new normal, to me, felt a lot like grief. We said goodbye to being carefree, to leaving the house without a mental checklist. Mask, sanitizer, steely will. Remember washing our groceries? But here we are, on the cusp of a new day, of a new year. We have vaccines on the horizon, and a lot of people have already received their first dose. 2021 is bringing us here in the US a new President, and new hope. To everyone who made it through with me, you are strong, you are resilient, and I’m so happy to have you here with me, to drink another day! Take your milk thistle, drink your water, and I’ll see you next year! So much love, my gorgeous drunkies! Happy New Year!
