Hot Sauce and Aspirin

Right now you are probably thinking, didn’t she say she was living large on pasta and rich cream sauces and not really drinking too much? Didn’t she just post that? What is she, some kind of liar/professional drinker/blogger? Maybe. Or maybe I’m staying at a house that literally has boxes of rosé in the basement. Yesterday was stressful, in fact it felt like it was 2 days, not just one really long one. And like any good person raised Irish Catholic, stressful day = all the rosé. (Insert your summer drink of choice, mine just rhymes.) Anyway, the day started out innocently enough. I woke up around 10, walked down to the port with my family around 11:30, ordered a cucumber martini. This exact one: Refreshing! My son accidentally knocked it over. So I drank about 1/2 of it, which was really the right amount of vodka for 11:55 AM. After lunch there was some family drama, not about the spilled drink, and not coming from me, I’m not a monster. That’s when I decided to take advantage of the endless supply of rosé and deal with the drama with a buzz. Classy right? And how cute is that glass? As I was opening the second bottle I considered the fact I had no hangover remedies with me, and knew on a deep lever that would not cut it. So I walked to the Nantucket pharmacy and bought some b complex, milk thistle and potassium. I was gonna Frankenstein a remedy or die trying. That’s when the hero without a cape, aka cashier, told me she had some Bytox patches. I bought one, and all the vitamins, and walked back home. As soon as I got home, I stuck the patch on. I have to tell you, the smell is bad. You smell like a vitamin shop. But otherwise you don’t notice you are wearing it and can continue on with your life. Most importantly, it worked. I woke up today feeling fine. I even took a mile plus walk to the beach! I will definitely be buying more of those patches, and will add it to my list of success stories! Cheers!
